ISIS Fund Services was established as a joint venture with The ISIS Group, which includes ISIS Limited, ISIS (Asia Pacific) Pty Limited, The ISIS Foundation and The ISIS Foundation (UK). The ISIS Foundation was established by Audette Exel and Sharon Beesley in 1997 as a charitable trust based in Bermuda. Its mission is to make a positive difference to the lives of children in the developing world, primarily through health and educational programmes in Nepal and Uganda. The ISIS Foundation is supported and managed by ISIS Limited and ISIS (Asia Pacific) Pty Limited, corporate finance and consultancy businesses with offices in Bermuda and Australia. ISIS Limited and ISIS (Asia Pacific) Pty Limited were established to generate revenue to pay head office and general administrative costs of The ISIS Foundation, along with some project costs. As a result, since inception all administration and general costs have been covered. The net result is that donations to the Foundation go directly to activities that support Nepal and Uganda projects, not to head office running costs. The ISIS Foundation has undertaken long-term commitments to improving the lives of children in Nepal (Kathmandu, and the Humla region, in north western Nepal) and Uganda (Kampala, and the Luwero district in central Northern Uganda). The projects and partner NGOs span a wide range, including running ten homes for trafficked children in Kathmandu, to building pit latrines and installing smokeless stoves high in the Himalayas, to helping fund a home for street kids in Kampala, to building, training and equipping a neonatal intensive care unit in rural Africa. All these projects have some things in common: all are of real benefit to the local communities; all involve input from local people; all are assessed to ensure that they do, in fact, meet community needs; and all genuinely help kids and families who are in serious need. The ISIS Foundation, Bermuda is registered as a Bermuda Charitable Trust (Registration No.508). The ISIS Foundation (UK) is registered with the UK Charity Commission (No.1098152). The Foundation is able to accept tax-deductible donations from (a) US taxpayers through the International Charitable Fund of Bermuda, and (b) UK taxpayers through The ISIS Foundation (UK).
